Custom Sissy Bar Mounts

Wiring Tubing Added

Backrest Mounts Backrest Mounts

Here are the backrest mounts. The first picture shows the tubing tacked on the sides of rear fender. The custom hand made sissy bar will be removable. There will be a set screw in the bottom of the mounts when finished. The second picture shows the finished mounts in primer.

Taillight Wire Tubing

Taillight wire tubing attached to the underside of the rear fender. This is made from early model oil line tubing. It will run the complete length of inside of the fender.

Custom sheet metal work to mate fender to seat:

The seat and fender don't really line up perfectly, this area needed a "fix".
Seat Fitment

So a few plates were cut and formed from sheet metal (3 pcs per side)

Next, I'll round off and better shape the sharp edges of frame.

Here's a better look at it without the seat which now meets perfectly.
Seat Fitment

Here's a shot of the finished area in primer. Looks like it should have been made that way.

Here's another angle also showing the taillight cut-out, look below.

This lens is from a 1909-1910? car of undetermined origin. It's an original lens (I'm handling it with care!) Thanks to my friend Wedge I was able to get this lens and this is how I'm setting it down under the fender so the lens is flush with fender. I'm making the whole taillight set up with a backing plate I've cut out of the same gauge metal as the fender and it will have an LED light row set up in it. (I'm making the mount as well, as you can see in the third picture). The whole thing is only a total of 1/2" thick so there will be no tire clearance problem. The set up is mounted after I welded 2-1/4" nuts to the underside of the fender (Thanks Wedge!!! for grabbing this lens for me)

Custom Mud Guard:

I cut this out of some plate I had...NO its not Chrome! I just ran the surface sander over it to smooth it down after I bent it...put it on top of my rear fender and bent it over my knee. I notched it for frame and rear chain clearance, drilled the 4 holes and it was done. It'll keep the slinging road crap off the trans etc. Couldn't see putting on one of the plastic ones that somebody is making, and the others would've been too much "outta the book stuff". The stock width one wouldn't fit any way with the fatter tire.
