3 Degree Raked Neck Cups

Fabricating the tank mounts. I can now see where I'm going to be trimming down some sharp edges and building up some spaces, to make it match the frame.
The tank is 2" stretched 4.2 gallon tank. This is a first! It fits perfect on the mounts it's made for. Nice rubber grommets too, front and rear.
Top view of how the rear of tank meets frame area. I'm hoping the seat is going to sit real close in there to fill the gap.
I'll also fill in this area in front of tank and get rid of the gap that'll be there after I cut off that tab for speedo/dash I wont be needing.
Chrome Horse brand strut-less fender is heavy duty. I'm going to fill in the ridge and take off the sharp edged look, but all in all the fender fits very good and is straight. Its one of the "long" fenders of the several styles we sell.
I'll also be filling in and smoothing this area all out too. Nice welds though as you can see. I will also weld an internal tube up under the rear fender to run wires to the taillight. The seat I am going to fit on it is made specifically for the rear fender/frame set up.

Avon 150 sits in there pretty well. I'm still going to use the solid rear wheel I already have so it's about as big a tire I feel safe on the size wheel it is. I plan on going to one of the newest fat 21" Avon tires at front too.
The 150 tire IS gonna work on rear after all. The next problem is the 1951 transmission case has a lower drain area that hits on one shock.

With a bit of work the pipes will even make it, but I'm gonna make another set anyway.
Not much chain clearance, but it WILL work with the dished 49 tooth sprocket we sell.

Here's the frame cleaned, blasted, and prepped for primer. It getting self-etching primer.
Here it is in self-etching primer. this stuff works great but don't try it at home.
Here it is painted and cleared with 2 stage urethane.
Here's the next part of the project!! The oil tank is one we carry.
- It's raw steel
- 3 1/2 quart,
- Center fill,
- For electric start Softail application
- #26-164 in our catalog
- Here are the tack welded mounts on the frame for the oil tank.
- I used paint stirrers for shims
- between the frame and the tank
- to align both sides for frame clearance.
- I'll finish the welds when I strip the frame back down after everything else has been fabricated for it.

BUT these are BEFORE pics and as you well know I cant just LEAVE IT ALONE!!! I've got some KOOL plans for it... Nothing I do on this bike is ever gonna be just "bolt-on" even if it does "bolt on"...
